Your First Sale on X Football: From Listing to Payout
A practical walkthrough for new sellers, how to create a listing that sells, what buyers look for, and what happens after the order is placed.
Getting your first sale on X Football is straightforward once you understand what buyers are actually looking for. This guide covers the full process, from setting up your listing to receiving your payout, with the specific details that make the difference between a listing that sells and one that sits.
Before You List
Have the item in front of you. Photograph it in natural daylight before you start filling in the listing form. The photos are the most important part of any listing and they are worth taking time over. A five-photo listing, front, back, badge/branding, tags, and any notable detail, outperforms a one-photo listing in every category. If there is any wear or damage, photograph it clearly. Buyers who find undisclosed defects are the primary source of disputes and returns.
Choosing the Right Category and Attributes
X Football supports specific categories for Jerseys, Boots, Outerwear, Accessories, Footballs, Cards, and Memorabilia. Choose the most specific category available, this affects which filters your listing appears in when buyers browse. Fill in every attribute: size, condition, season (for kits), make and model (for boots). Incomplete listings rank lower and receive less buyer confidence.
Condition Grading
Be honest. An item graded higher than its actual condition generates returns. An item graded conservatively will often sell at full asking price to a buyer who is pleasantly surprised. When in doubt, grade down rather than up, buyers appreciate accuracy and it builds your review score over time.
Pricing
Check what comparable items have sold for recently, look at other X Football listings and, where public data is available, recent completed sales on other platforms. Price relative to condition and rarity. If you're open to negotiation, enable the Offers feature, it doesn't reduce your asking price but opens a channel for serious buyers who want to engage.
After the Sale
You have 3 business days to dispatch. Pack the item securely, use a tracked service, and upload the tracking number to the order in your Seller Dashboard as soon as the item is with the carrier. This updates the buyer automatically and protects you if any delivery dispute arises later.
Your Payout
Once the buyer confirms receipt, your payout is initiated within 2–3 business days. The amount reflects your sale price minus your Seller Fee tier and Stripe processing fee. You can track this in real time in your Seller Dashboard under Payouts. New sellers on a 30-day Pro trial pay 0% Seller Fee, meaning only the 3% Stripe fee applies during this period.
